La Doble C: the first collection by Clara & Carolina

Craftsmanship has a quiet problem: it's running out of young hands. That's why, when two interns left behind some designs in the workshop that were too good to put away, we knew we had to do something. That's how La Doble C was born.

Who are Clara & Carolina

Clara and Carolina are two very young women who came to do their fashion internship at Labienhecha. They arrived not knowing what a workshop looked like from the inside and left having designed their first accessories collection: cases, glasses holders, lipstick holders… small pieces made to always keep what matters close.

As they told us themselves: “we've had to redo the prototypes so many times… now we realise the work that's behind it”. That's learning the craft.

The challenge

We liked their designs so much that we set ourselves something: putting them on sale for 48 hours, with the profit going to them. Their first official sale. And with a community condition, very much ours: if the sales goal was reached, La Doble C would stay at Labienhecha forever. If not, it would disappear.

We couldn't think of a better way to put the final touch on their internship: for them to leave with a real sale, a genuine “yes” and more drive to keep going.

Why it mattered so much to us

Because craftsmanship needs new blood. It needs young people with drive, passion and curiosity to keep the tradition alive. Clara and Carolina are proof that it's still possible —and that a timely “yes” can change the way someone looks at their future—.

What excited them most, they said, was precisely that: someone believing in them. And you made it possible.
