The gift nobody throws away
Almost everyone has that drawer. A pen with a company logo, an unopened notebook, a mug nobody drinks from, a USB stick from a trade fair four years ago. None of it was thrown away on day one — it was politely received, put away, and it's still there.
That drawer is where most corporate gifts end up. Which is a shame, because at the time there was a good intention and there was a budget. All that was missing was choosing something the person actually wanted to keep.
This article is about the opposite extreme: the gift that never gets thrown away.
The calculation almost nobody does
When people choose a corporate gift, they compare the unit price. It's the only easy number, so it decides everything.
But unit price isn't the cost of the gift. The real cost is what you paid divided by the years the person uses it — and by the number of times that, in using it, they remember who gave it to them.
By that measure, almost everything reorders itself. A cheap object that gets put away unused costs one hundred per cent of what you paid, because it did nothing. An object someone carries every day for years gets cheaper with each passing day, and keeps working long after you've forgotten about it.
A handmade leather bag is the extreme case of the second. It isn't a gift that gets received: it's a gift that gets used for years, carried in public, and seen.
Why leather ages in your favour
There's a difference between things that deteriorate and things that become yours.
Most objects get worse with use: they scratch, they fade, they wear, and one day they become slightly embarrassing. Good leather does the opposite. It softens, it develops a feel, it adapts to how each person uses it. After five years it doesn't look old: it looks like theirs.
For a gift, that difference is everything. It means there's never a moment when it stops being used out of embarrassment. It means the gesture doesn't expire.
Who this makes sense for
Let's be clear: this isn't a gift to hand out. It's for a few, very specific people.
It works when we're talking about five to fifteen units and the relationship with each one genuinely matters:
- Board members and partners — where an ordinary token would be almost insulting.
- Your highest-value clients — the handful of accounts whose goodwill holds up the year.
- Recognition — a retirement, a career, someone who did something exceptional. Moments that call for an object to match.
- Company anniversaries — ten years, twenty-five years. Something people keep as proof they were there.
If you need to cover a hundred people, this isn't the route and we'll say so plainly: better a small excellent piece than a large mediocre one. But for fifteen people who matter, there aren't many things that say as much.
Your brand, without shouting
The reasonable fear about giving something like this is that it will look like advertising. A large logo ruins a beautiful piece, and communicates the opposite of what you wanted.
So we emboss into the leather, integrated into the piece, at the right size and in the right place. The person sees a bag they want to use — and every time they open it, there's your brand, discreet, having asked for nothing.
We also adapt the colour, the inside message and the packaging. And before anything is made, we send you a design proof with your logo applied: nothing goes into production until you approve it.
Not all bags are equally complex
Worth knowing, because it opens up options.
Alongside our classic models, we work with lighter formats — our origami system — built a different way: fewer pieces, a different technique, the same level of care. They're quicker to produce, which gives more room to manoeuvre when the calendar is tight or when the project calls for something more contemporary.
Which one fits best depends on who it's for and when you need it. It's the first thing we look at when preparing a proposal.
And if you don't dare choose the bag?
Here's the honest objection, and it's what stops most of these gifts: the fear of getting it wrong. Wrong model, wrong colour, wrong size. A bag is a personal choice, and giving one to someone whose taste you don't fully know is daunting.
It's a legitimate fear. And there's a solution: give the whole experience instead of the piece.
We prepare a box for your company — with a leather holder embossed with your brand, a card and a small gift — and whoever receives it then chooses their own piece on our website: their model, their colour, their size. We put it together specifically for each project, like everything else: it isn't a catalogue product.
What it solves:
- You always get it right. The person who'll use it chooses it.
- They get to live the choosing, which is part of the pleasure and stretches the gift out over time.
- A beautiful physical object arrives, not a cold code by email. It can be handed over in person, at an event, in front of everyone.
- The lead-time problem disappears, because what you're handing over is the box.
It isn't a second-best option: for many projects it's simply the best one.
How to start
Tell us who it's for, how many people, and when you need it. We'll put together a proposal built for you, with no obligation — and we'll tell you frankly whether it fits or whether something else would suit your case better.

Frequently asked questions
Does it make sense to give a bag to a client or a director?
For a few people and relationships that matter, yes: it's one of the few gifts that gets used for years. For higher volumes, a small piece made just as well is better.
Can the company logo be embossed?
Yes, into the leather and integrated into the piece, at a discreet size and position. Always with a design proof before production.
And if I don't know which model or colour to choose?
Then the sensible thing is to give the experience: we prepare the box with your brand and the person chooses their own piece.
How long does it take?
It depends on the model, the volume and the personalisation. Give us your date and we'll confirm it in the proposal.
How does pricing work?
Built to order, based on model, volume and personalisation. Proposal with no obligation.
